CHARACTER(S): Link (ohhshrine) LEVEL OF TELEPATHY: Anything, go wild, I'm game MENTAL BARRIERS: He does not have any, alas for him OTHER NOTES: Link's memory is a bit of a disaster; he has some missing bits from before he was unconscious for 100 years and he never truly recovers every little thing so he might be a little bit of a mess in his head! Outwardly he's pretty okay but it might just be interesting to notice, hey, there's a few memories just ???? that he doesn't recall
Edited (there's a missing closed bold tag after characters just fyi!) 2023-05-30 04:48 (UTC)
CHARACTER(S): John Gaius (unconscionable) LEVEL OF TELEPATHY: Give me all of it. Metagame me. MENTAL BARRIERS: None, get right in there. John is something of a black box to magic that involves his physical self, but his mental shit is unguarded. OTHER NOTES: John is metaphysically Large, he once combined himself with Earth, it's complicated! But he's cut off from Her in Rubi so he's also kind of empty? Also he has aphantasia when he's conscious so his internal monologue is more like text than sound.
CHARACTER(S): Quentin Smith (pharmacy) LEVEL OF TELEPATHY: Fuck me up MENTAL BARRIERS: Some might say he's PARTICULARLY WEAK to having his mind read OTHER NOTES: Big psychic soft spots in this guy's brain, his childhood is basically missing, a dream demon ripped a whole in the back of his consciousness to get in and try to kill the shit out of him, and he's been in a constant state of fight for your life/die/repeat for the last few years, so his brain looks like one too many hits with the snake
CHARACTER(S): Marta Cabrera (veraz) LEVEL OF TELEPATHY: Definitely down for surface skimming/delving deeper and responding to unspoken thoughts. Let me know how much detail you'd like in any particular interaction! While Marta doesn't have any built-in resistance to being mind-controlled, I would prefer that only be on the table through extensive plotting (which I'm 100% clear is the default here anyway) MENTAL BARRIERS: not even a mote of one. OTHER NOTES: Marta tends to focus on a more complete picture of people/events as she becomes aware of them, and creating beautiful patterns however she can. very non-judgmental overall.
CHARACTER(S): Peony (hislittleflower) LEVEL OF TELEPATHY: Go nuts. I have no objections to Wanda reading Peony's mind, controlling her or any of the other elements you've mentioned. Mind-control is common in Dungeons and Dragons, Peony has experienced it before and is (mostly) unbothered by it. You have a blanket okay from me but I'm happy to discuss this :)
NB - She can't be charmed due to fairy bullshit which I read as being different to out and out mind control. Any attempts to charm her will bounce back off to the person casting. It could be possible that 'tweaking' Peony's behaviour or influencing her isn't possible, but whole hog taking control of her mind is. MENTAL BARRIERS: Peony has died twice in the course of her adventures prior to coming to Rubi. This has been super traumatic for her both times and she has tried her best to wall around the memories of this.
Wanda may be able to detect the presence of Peony's pact with Titania in her mind. Titania is always cognizant of what Peony is up to, even if she isn't actively taking an interest at that moment. Think of her like an anti-virus that might lash out if Wanda takes up too much room in Peony's mind. OTHER NOTES: Okay but this could be a really cool way for Peony to side step her pact restrictions on intimacy if Wanda wanted to take control of her for a bit and take her body for a spin /wiggles eyebrows
CHARACTER(S): Astarion (thepigisdead) LEVEL OF TELEPATHY: Skim away! She could easily push deeper and I'm game for that, but he'd start to notice.
MENTAL BARRIERS: He has... a worm in his head? That gives him some more mental prowess - he's more aware of intrusions and he might be more able to keep someone from digging if he notices. Or, at the very least, retaliate.
OTHER NOTES: Astarion has trouble remembering his life before becoming a vampire. He's also got a whole hunk of CWs here that someone digging around in his head might run into.
CHARACTER(S): Jughead Jones (serpentigena) LEVEL OF TELEPATHY: Yes. (aka: all of it. You never have to ask for permission to have Wanda 'read' anything that I've written in any part of the tags because that's always fair game, but if you need/want more detail, just hit me up and let me know! I'll happily edit more stuff in.) MENTAL BARRIERS: None OTHER NOTES: Nothing I can think of at the moment
CHARACTER(S): Aegon II Targaryen (lascivient) LEVEL OF TELEPATHY: i'm pretty sure all of it?? just lmk about the mind control first so we can talk, since he has #trauma now, jade. MENTAL BARRIERS: nope! he does often numb his mind with copious alcohol so he doesn't think at all, though. OTHER NOTES: 😬 maybe she just never sees/hears any of the Aemond stuff

CHARACTER: Dominic Hartley (vicissitas) LEVEL OF TELEPATHY: Any level, keeping his barriers in mind. MENTAL BARRIERS: Though he's completely vulnerable to mindreading atp, Nick does have a nascent form of persuasion called the Maggidim as I've outlined in my own opt-in/out post, which might allow him some measure of resistance against deeper control. If it ever becomes relevant I'm very open to discussing and playing with that! OTHER NOTES: Nope!
