Steve makes a beeline for the barracks as soon as he finishes up with Strange, all other plans forgotten. It's the middle of the day and Riftwatch doesn't seem to leave its agents idle, so she's probably not in her room, but he has to start his search somewhere. He could leave it until later in the day, there's no rush, no one but Strange would even know to tell her he's here... but Steve takes the stairs up the tower two at a time anyway.

After the Raft, when Wanda and Sam were recovered enough and Natasha had caught up to them, they'd all sat down and decided on some signals to use among each other. This whistle means area secure, this phrase means I've been followed, this knock means I'm a friendly, let me in, ad nauseam. The code wasn't to be shared with anyone, not even Vision. Not even Bucky.

Steve raps his knuckles against Wanda's door in the familiar friendly rhythm, and waits.
