( he goes home and he talks it over with katherine. at first, she's not very happy with it, too concerned with someone going into his mind and him not coming out of it in one piece.
but he reminds her that he's human and a paper cut could take him out. that seems to have an effect. he tells her that she'll be able to come with him to make sure that wanda doesn't do anything untoward. he doesn't know if maybe katherine can step into his head while wanda's doing what she's doing to make doubly sure of that but it's an option.
once they've both decided, he calls wanda and let's her know and he and katherine make their way over to wanda's apartment. )
[ it's a good thing she's set up a lamp location in front of her house. it's just beyond the border of her front yard. some of the bushes gently streak with red as if it's white noise (tainted red) of a television trying to find the right channel.
she's waiting on her porch step for them to arrive, and when two familiar figures do, she stands up and brushes off the back of her pants and lets them make the little walk along her lawn to her front porch. sometimes, some people need those few minutes alone.
and when they're a little closer, she clasps her hands in front of her. stefan looks fineânormal, five fingers per hand, fluffy hair, caterpillar eyebrowsâbut she suspects that he doesn't feel it. ]
[ with a click of her fingers, two comfortable wooden chairs with plush pillows appear on the wraparound porch. (wanda's been redecorating.) she gestures with a gentle wave of her hand. ]
You can both sit. I'll stand behind you like a hairdresser.
[ all wanda wants is to make their nervous energy feel a little less hot and heavy. she knows that's not going to be something completely achievable, but she doesn't want either of them to feel overly distrusting of her.
katherine, as she takes a seat and crosses her legs at the knee, murmurs, ] He does need a haircut.
( stefan makes a face at her and then sits down beside her, resting his hands on his thighs. he's not exactly sure what she's going to do but he tries to relax. )
[ katherine slides her arm behind stefan's chair and taps her fingers against the wood. she's the perfect picture of patience. wanda can sense her worry even beneath the carefully calculated mask.
wanda wrinkles her nose. ] It'll tickle a little, but it won't be painful. It shouldn't. I just want to see if anything has permanently changed. It'll be like... [ she narrows her eyes for a moment in thought. ] Like a feather.
[ wanda doesn't touch stefan. she holds her hands out on either side of his head. her palms begin to glow a gentle red before they brighten, the red bursting quietly and slowly from her hands. he'll feel something close to a little tickle. it's like a feather brushing against his skin. wanda doesn't try to dig any deeper as she starts at his head, feeling his thoughts tease at the surface of the ocean.
he feels strange but fine. there's humanity inside of him that feels twisted, but she imagines that's the vampirism that lingers inside of him. nothing inside of his mind feels different. there are no blockages to prevent him from mentally allowing his body to tug at his vampirism and bring it forth. ]
